How to Make Brownies with Peppermint Frosting
Prepare and bake your boxed brownie mix according to the package instructions for your pan size. Let them cool completely.
Beat the softened butter in a bowl until smooth. Slowly add the powdered sugar, heavy cream, and peppermint extract. Mix until light and fluffy.
Spread the peppermint frosting evenly over the cooled brownies. Sprinkle the crushed candy canes on top.


Chill the brownies in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes to let the frosting firm up, then cut into squares.
Top Tip
Before adding the frosting, allow the brownies to cool completely. They shouldn’t even be a little warm as that can cause the frosting to melt.
Storage
You can store these brownies with peppermint frosting at room temperature for up to a 5 days in the fridge.
Before serving, allow them to sit at room temperature for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Don’t worry, this can happen when you add too much cream or milk. To fix it, simply add more powdered sugar, a little at a time until it gets as thick as you like it.
