How to Make Mini Patriotic Red White and Blue Trifles
Follow the instructions to make the strawberry sauce.
Add a layer of angel food cake cubes to the bottom of a glass or jar.
Spoon strawberries over the cake, along with a little of the juice.

Add a layer of whipped topping.
Sprinkle blueberries evenly over the whipped topping.

Repeat the layers until you reach the top of the glass, finishing with whipped topping and a few berries.
Repeat with the remaining glasses.

Top Tip
To avoid the berries bleeding into the cake. Alternate the layers as follows: cake, whipped topping, berries, whipped cream, cake, whipped topping, and so on.
You want to create a barrier so the juice from the berries doesn’t leak into the cake and become mushy.
Storage
After assembly, place plastic wrap against the top layer of the trifle and cover with a lid. Store in the fridge for up to 24 hours before serving.

FAQ
Sure. You can make it up to a day in advance. Just cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Be sure to place plastic wrap direct over the top layer and cover with a lid.
For best results, wait to assemble closer to serving time. Also, avoid adding too much liquid from the berries.
I wouldn’t. Frozen berries will become a bit mushy when they thaw.
