Why You’ll Love This Recipe…

  • This meal isn’t just a meal. There’s something magical about the creamy layers, gooey cheese, and crispy, golden tater tots on top. Mmmm! Each bite takes you back to simpler days like cozy family dinners or snow days spent indoors.
  • You know those nights you’re staring at your pantry, wishing dinner would cook itself? This casserole is basically that dream come true. There are no complicated steps, no fancy techniques—just layer everything in a dish and let the oven work its magic. You can practically make it with your eyes closed (but, you know, don’t actually do that).
  • Got a potluck, a game day party, or just a house full of hungry people? This casserole has you covered. It’s one of those dishes that stretches easily, so everyone gets seconds (and maybe thirds). And let’s be real—who’s ever turned down a meal topped with tater tots?
  • What’s the best part about this casserole? For some, it’s that you can easily make it your own. Love veggies? Throw in some green beans, broccoli, or corn. Want a little kick? Add some diced jalapeños or a drizzle of hot sauce. You do you!

Pour the mixture into your baking dish. Top with the shredded cheese, then tater tots.

Bake 30-35 minutes until tater tots are golden brown and crispy.

Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Top Tip

Use frozen tots, not thawed. Toss those tots on straight from the freezer so they bake up crispy, not soggy. Nobody likes a soggy tot!

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, and reheat in the oven to keep those tots crispy. Want to freeze it? Assemble the casserole, wrap it tight, and freeze for up to 3 months—it’s a dinner lifesaver!

FAQ

Can I add vegetables to the casserole?

Definitely! Corn, green beans, or broccoli are perfect additions. Just mix them in with the turkey layer for extra flavor and nutrition.

Can I make it ahead of time?

Yes! Assemble the casserole and store it in the fridge for up to a day before baking, or freeze it for longer storage.

How do I keep the tater tots crispy?

Bake the casserole uncovered and use frozen tater tots (not thawed). For reheating, skip the microwave and use the oven instead.
