Why You’ll Love This Recipe…
- One of the things I love about this recipe (and buffalo sauce recipes in general is) that it’s spicy but not too spicy. Its a “hot sauce” perched right in that goldilocks zone. Most everyone can tolerate it.
- Not every dinner needs to be a five course masterpiece. Some days you just need to get through it. Buffalo kielbasa dogs are the perfect quick and easy recipe. You just cook the sausage, warm the buns, and add the toppings.
- So, I just LOVE putting my own twist on recipes. How about you? Well, these dogs are completely customizable. You can add sauteed bell peppers, cole slaw, or even pineapple if spicy/sweet is your thing.
- Want a fun twist at your next BBQ? Try this recipe. It’ll be remembered over your neighbors latest burnt offerings. Or, want something equal parts easy and tasty, try it out on gameday. It’s a guaranteed crowd pleaser.
- These Buffalo kielbasa dogs are a bit messy. And that’s okay. Just don’t wear your favorite white shirt when you eat them. Sure, you might need a whole bunch of napkins, but you know what, that’s part of the fun. Just go with it!
Ingredients
- Kielbasa Sausage – choose your favorite smoked sausage.
- Hot Dog Buns – we go fancy with the buns, like brioche fancy because they are worth it. The cheapest ones sometimes split open.
- Buffalo Sauce – premade buffalo sauce works just fine in this recipe, unless you prefer to make your own.
- Blue Cheese Crumbles – adds that extra little tangy flavor.
- Blue Cheese or Ranch Dressing – pick your favorite or if your feeling it, grab both.

Top Tip
If you’re going to cook the kielbasa on the grill, make sure you get those charred grill marks. There’s so much flavor there. Mmmm! They add a bit of smokiness that makes the meal even better.
Storage
Leftovers? LOL Seriously though, you can keep the Buffalo kielbasa dogs in the fridge for up to three days (I doubt they’ll last that long).
To reheat, place them in a skillet over medium heat for a few minutes or microwave in 20 to 30 second intervals until warm
Freezing is also an option. Place the sausage in a freezer bag and keep them for up to two months. Reheat by thawing overnight in the fridge, the warm on the stove or microwave.
FAQ
Nope! You are the captain of this ship my friend. So, go for the frankfurter (better known as hot dog in America), andouille, and even chicken sausage if you like.
For starters, cook it over medium heat and rotate it frequently. This will result in grill marks without scorching the kielbasa.
We love blue cheese, cole slaw and bacon. But sliced avocado, crispy onions, a drizzle of ranch will always get my attention at the backyard barbecue.
