You want to start by rinsing the asparagus thoroughly under cold running water to remove any dirt or sand from both the stalks and tips.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
To remove the tough, woody ends of the asparagus, gently bend them a few inches from the stem end. They will naturally break at the right spot. Discard the stems.
Cut the bacon slices in half lengthwise. Take a piece of bacon and wrap it around the asparagus, making sure to overlap the bacon. Secure with a toothpick at the bottom. Continue until all the asparagus is wrapped in bacon.
In a shallow pan, add the brown sugar. Coat the bacon-wrapped asparagus in the brown sugar. Make sure each is completely coated.
Place the asparagus on the baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes. Serve immediately, enjoy!
