Relax, both of the single-serve style blenders in the Nutri Ninja bl482 vs bl481 comparison are very good options. When it comes to blenders, you have so many different options to choose from. Single-serve blenders are very convenient machines. While full-size blenders are often times more powerful than single-serve models, they are usually more expensive and hefty too.

Which blender works best for making a delicious and healthy fruit and veggie smoothie?

However, these compact blenders offer everything that you need in one package making them a good value. But you’re most likely on this page because you are trying to choose between the two. This page will help you do just that. Below you will discover everything that you need to make the best decision for your situation.

Appearance and Size

These machines are identical. Both are good-looking and share the same silver/dark-gray color scheme. I like kitchen appliances that don’t take up too much space. With a base that measures about 5” x 6”, you won’t have to worry about where to store either of them.

The height is only about 8.5 inches and even when one of the “Ninja” cups is connected to the base, it isn’t that tall. You’ll be able to move either one around with just one hand.

The construction for both is all plastic and some folks have complained about that. I personally prefer to get machines made out of metal, they look better and tend to be more durable.

Power and Performance

For a compact blender, these machines do pack a punch. 1000-watts of power is decent for an average full-size blender but plenty powerful for these compact models. Lots of folks are happy with the performance the performance they get.

Although one caveat would be that they are pretty loud for their size – I’ve come across this complaint quite a few times. I think that’s to be expected with a 1000-watt machine, though.

It’s not just about the wattage that makes these machines good at pulverizing and crushing the tough ingredients that you put in it, i.e. ice and fibrous vegetables. The seven-fin pro-extractor blades also help in that respect too. Many customers are happy with the texture of the smoothies that these machines produce.

In fact, I’ve come across customers that claim that these machines produce great results with blending nuts. If you ever tried to blend up nuts in a cheap $20 blender then you know that the end result is just terrible. But, that doesn’t mean that you can make nut meal or nut butters with these models.

Note: Sometimes when customers are unhappy with their blender performance it’s that they overload it or do something opposite of what is suggested. Even the best blenders won’t live up to expectations if used improperly.

Auto-IQ Technology

The auto-iq takes the guess work out of making the smoothie for you. It optimizes the power and the blades to help ensure that you have maximum nutrient and vitamin extraction. The program is designed to automatically react to the unique arrangement and type of ingredients inside the blender cup. This feature makes the Nutri Ninja stand high above a lot of the competition in the same price range.

To help you keep track of the progress of your concoction there is a convenient digital countdown timer.

Control Panel

The interface is very simple to use as there are only 4 buttons: start/stop, pulse, blend, and ultra-blend. The ultra-blend, of course, operates at higher wattage for better and faster results.

Blender Cups and Capacity

Both machines come with 3 different cups: a small 18 ounce cup, a regular 24 ounce cup and a jumbo 32 ounce Nutri Ninja cup. All of these cups come with the sip and seal lids that allow you to take your blended drink on the go with you throughout the day.

Now here is a potential issue that you may or may not have considered yet: capacity. These machines are designed for personal-size smoothies so you won’t be able to make smoothies for the whole family in the morning (if that is part of your routine) in one batch. Heck, even the 32 ounce option is a little too small to make servings for two people.

I suppose a solution would be to buy more cups or possibly a second unit but in the end this may be a limitation that you have to consider.

Recipe Book

Both models include recipes as part of the getting started guide (this guide includes tips as well). The bl482, however, includes an in depth recipe book as part of the package. It’s a healthy living and recipe, by Rachel Beller, called “Eat to Lose, Eat to Win”. It has all kinds of useful information for you. That is the sole difference between the bl481 and the bl482.

Warranty

Both models come with a 1-year warranty.

Summary

Flip a coin, that’s how easy this decision is. When it comes to the Nutri Ninja bl482 vs bl481, the only difference is that the bl482 comes with the book by Rachel Beller. Some folks think that it’s worth it to get it while others don’t. But you just can’t go wrong here. There are lots of folks whom are satisfied with either one.
