I came across the Hutzler 571 Banana Slicer while purchasing some items on amazon. At first, I thought it was a joke, who needs a banana slicer. Then I thought why not get it, it could be helpful.

I opened the banana slicer and washed it. Initially I had some concerns about the slicer because it was larger than I thought it would be. It didn’t fit on any of the large plates I had. So I had to use my cutting board.
I took a small banana, peeled it and put the slicer over the banana. It fit perfectly. I simply pushed down and the banana was sliced. I lifted the slicer and most of the banana was stuck in between the spaces. I had to push the pieces out.
What I didn’t like was that the slices were a little too thick. I would use the slicer for making banana pudding if the spaces were a little closer together.
It is very safe for your child to use without you worrying if they will get hurt. This is a simple way to involve your young (toddler aged) children in the kitchen. It was easy to clean, I just rinsed it with warm water.
